Southglenn Library - Arapahoe Libraries

Adopting the Family Place model has helped our libraries to thrive, while also supporting our families in ways that make a lasting impact. By focusing on the well-being of the whole child, our libraries offer vibrant community hubs that cater to young children, their caregivers and families. With developmentally appropriate early learning spaces, literacy-based programming, and knowledgeable staff, our libraries intentionally support early literacy and lifelong learning. Southglenn Library has been growing in the number of visitors that come to the location including a large increase in young children and Spanish language speakers. The library does not have an enclosed children's space, and yet families still come frequently to play, explore, connect and learn together. Arapahoe Libraries’ vision is a literate, informed and fulfilled community. With this investment in our community via Family Place, we see our youngest included in that vision.
