Adopting the Family Place model has helped our libraries to thrive, while also supporting our families in ways that make a lasting impact. By focusing on the well-being of the whole child, our libraries offer vibrant community hubs that cater to young children, their caregivers and families. With developmentally appropriate early learning spaces, literacy-based programming, and knowledgeable staff, our libraries intentionally support early literacy and lifelong learning. Castlewood Library is a relatively small location nestled next to neighborhoods and local elementary schools with visitors that come all over whether it's across town or walking from home. Since implementing Family Place components, Castlewood has seen an increase in families visiting the children's space and attending early childhood programming. Arapahoe Libraries’ vision is a literate, informed and fulfilled community. With this investment in our community via Family Place, we see our youngest included in that vision.
