The R.F. Meador Branch Library is proud to be a part of the Family Place Library network. We promote its tenets by supporting parents and families in the Willis community by creating safe and welcoming play areas for children and their parents to interact. Our library believes that parents are a child's first teacher and that children ages 0-3 learn best through play. R.F. Meador Branch Library offers a collection of toys curated for imaginary play, creativity, and social skill development. We offer a play kitchen, doll play area, train set, toy workbench, tables for arts and crafts, toys for fine motor skill development, and much more. We also have many wooden puzzles and a designated area for infant toys, and we offer multiple free children's programs each week. We encourage families, play dates, and homeschool groups to visit R.F. Meador Branch Library and spend some time in play.
We offer a yearly Parent-Child Workshop series that educates parents of children ages 0-3 on topics such as Early Literacy and General Parenting, Child Development, Speech, Hearing, and Language Development, Nutrition, and Music and Movement Development. We also have a Family Place Library Collection with parenting books and informational brochures.
