Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library

The Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library (Broomfield Library) is dedicated to serving the needs of children and families to help give children the best start in life. The Family Place Center in the Children’s Library is a safe, fun environment where children and their caregivers can read, play and learn together. This specially designed space features developmentally appropriate toys so children can learn through play, build skills and have positive social interactions.

In the play spaces and programs here, we focus on supporting growth through play and community. Families come from surrounding communities to our library because of the Family Place philosophy, which provides a healthy environment for everyone in the family to grow and spend time together. In response to the needs of our patrons, we now offer playtime after each storytime and a monthly Baby & Toddler Play Time for caregivers to build connections with each other.

The library offers materials collections that support families including books on parenting topics, picture books adults can share with children to develop skills and support transitions, Early Literacy and Grab & Go Story Kits, and Let’s Talk About It Kits that provide resources on topics that may be difficult to discuss with children. The library also has a Mamava lactation space providing parents a clean, quiet and private place to nurse.

The Broomfield Library offers programs that support caregivers and their child’s healthy growth. Programs include Play & Learn programs for babies & toddlers and their caregivers, Storytimes, Music & Movement, parenting workshops and more. Becoming a Family Place Library has also positioned Broomfield Library as a partner with other family-serving agencies in the community. Through these connections, staff are able to provide additional opportunities and resources for families.

Friendly and knowledgeable library staff are always happy to answer questions, offer assistance, and engage with all patrons both inside and outside the library walls.
