Library 21c of Pikes Peak Library District has been a Family Place Library since June 2014. Families enjoy our Family Place Play Area, which has toys and materials that spark imaginative play, build gross and fine motor skills, and foster early literacy. There is also a writing center for children, a special area for families with infants, and various parenting resources, including a family centered community bulletin board.
Along with Family Place Playgroups, we offer other programs for ages 0-5 including Baby Time, Toddler Time, Storytime, Music and Movement, and Create and Play, an exploratory process art program. The library continues to offer curbside hold checkout services for busy families, and we now have a Toy Library with toys that can be checked out for use at home.
Families flock to our library because it is a special community destination for indoor play. The play area provides a social and learning environment that encourages interaction and provides a safe place for children to explore and learn about their world with their grown-ups and new friends.
