Grant County Library

Our small community has suffered financial challenges during the economy crisis in our state. Our library faced massive budget cuts and decreased hours and staff. We lost a large number of our patron base when our evening and weekend hours disappeared. Almost like a miracle the opportunity to attend the Family Place Training was provided by our Library System and Russell Child Development. Since initiating our Educational Play area, our Parenting Collection, and Parent Child Workshops, we have seen a major increase in library use by young families and an increase in partnerships with our communities early childhood organizations. Many of our county entities have been sold or failed during the economy crisis but the library has grown and thrived. We can thank Family Place for much of this success.
