Auburn Public Library

Our children’s room serves as a welcoming place for all our families. Our play area is bright and filled with age appropriate toys. We have a wooden dollhouse, train table, puzzles, soft blocks, dolls, cars, magnetic mazes, chairs and table as well as a couch and chairs. Our parenting collection is located in the toy area so that parents can read and select books while their children are playing. We also have an informational rack filed with parenting information from local agencies and on important parenting topics such as nutrition, potty-training, sleep and play. My staff is friendly and knowledgeable and we provide parents with current and timely information. We also learn their names and are always happy to see them in the room. We often take the time to help a child with a puzzle or a drawing. We have a designated table for coloring/drawing with paper and crayons. Being a Family Place Library has helped us improve our services to young children and their families. I believe that our community recognizes us a trusted resource for early childhood programming and materials. Our opinion is valued among the other agencies that serve young children in our community.
