Thomas Memorial Library

We are a small public library located just south of Portland, Maine. Our play area has become a destination for families with young children. Some families visit us multiple times a week or even daily as part of their routine. 

Groups of caregivers meet for play groups in our play area. We have also found that caregivers interact with their children in story times and other programs because they know there is a space for them to socialize before and after programs. 

Being a Family Place library has transformed the way we provide services to families with young children. We are told by many parents that the library is their child's favorite place to go!
