Northport-East Northport Public Library

The Northport-East Northport Public Library has two locations: Northport and East Northport. We have a wonderful, imaginative play space in both of our library locations. We rotate books, puzzles, games, and toys in these spaces which encourage creative and collaborative play. Both of our locations have a fully-stocked play cooking set, train table, writing table, magnetic alphabet board, and preschool science activity areas. Additionally, our Northport location has "The Cove," with age-appropriate manipulatives and puppet theater. Our East Northport location also has a section with dolls complete with a high chair and cradle. Our patrons really appreciate having an area in the library where they can spend time as a family and enjoy entertaining and educational activities--with no cost and no time limits. Parents/caregivers network as their children play and make new friends. We are especially proud of how this space is used for families that are new to the community, have children with special needs, or for whom English is a new language, as well as grandparents, neighbors, and babysitters with children under their care.
