Northport-East Northport Public Library

The Northport-East Northport Public Library has two locations: East Northport and Northport. We have a wonderful, imaginative play space in both of our library locations. We rotate books, puzzles, games, and toys in these spaces which encourage creative and collaborative play. In our Northport location, we have a puppet theater, fully-stocked play kitchen, grocery store, 3D printer, train table, writing table, and preschool science activity table that are permanent fixtures in the room. Permanent fixtures in our East Northport include a fully-stocked play kitchen, baby dolls with high chair and cradle, magnetic alphabet board, train table, writing table, and preschool science activity table. Our patrons really appreciate having an area in the library where they can spend time as a family and enjoy entertaining and educational activities--with no cost and no time limits. Parents/caregivers network as their children play and make new friends. We are especially proud of how this space is used for families that are new to the community; families with children who have special needs; families for whom English is a new language; and grandparents, neighbors,  and babysitters with children under their care. Family place libraries foster Community.
