Our Children's Room, Family Place Library, is the hub of our building. It is always bustling with laughter and giggles from play and high pitched voices from every child that enters our room. Parents, caregivers, grandparents, babysitters cannot get enough. Our room is bright, colorful and bursting with manipulatives for infants, toddlers and upper ages. Board books & picture books are our highest circulators. We have puzzles, sensory toys and musical instruments and everything for imaginative play. Our garden is in full swing with a water table, crabby sand table, sidewalk chalk and a basketball hoop. And, yummy veggies that can be picked right off the vines! In addition, we are now using our back program room as a free play room. Toys were changed out and we added new ones. It is a huge hit, loved by all.
We have never been busier. Once the world finally reopened, we have become the ultimate gathering place for families. We have more families and children come into our room than ever before. It is the best feeling. Playdates are scheduled here, new moms meet up here, parents make plans with others to come to the same programs so they can be together. COVID brought in a new sense of community & togetherness. Parents & caregivers are grateful for all that we do. We foster learning and socialization from birth all the way up to the teenage years. We try our absolute best to provide resources for the families in our community, from education to play, to crafts and kits, and information on local schools and developmental intervention centers.
Our Library has become the stepping stone for little ones to socialize. "COVID BABIES" make progress with social skills here. So many parents tell us this is their child's first outing with other children since the pandemic. Parents rely on us to give their families things to do outside of school and sports. The way our Youth Services Staff does everything has changed: for the better. We are more innovative, more adaptable, more resourceful. We are better. We strive for better to help the families in our community, and neighboring communities. If something isn't fully working, we change it up. We look at things from different angles. All we do is for the benefit of the families we serve.
