Hollidaysburg Area Public Library offers a wide variety of programming for many ages including adult book clubs, tech help, Storytimes, teen cooking classes, computer classes, tutoring, partnerships with local nonprofits and parent groups, topics of interest including science, art, local history, health and wellness, environment and nature, STEM based programs including LEGO in the Library and Maker Mondays, and a yearly Summer Learning (previously known as Summer Reading) program. We did close for a time due to COVID. Upon reopening, we followed CDC recommendations that everyone wear a mask. Disposable masks are provided for patrons who may not be prepared. Just a few of our groups chose to meet virtually, with most returning to in-person programming. Our computers are spaced appropriately, and keyboards are covered before each use with Press & Seal cling wrap. We provide Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer in several locations. We have removed all cloth puppets, stuffed toys and costumes in our Children's Space. Yucky Buckets have been added for those toys that may have been in a child's mouth or deemed "yucky". Numerous patrons have expressed gratitude for the community that the library provides, the comfort of our friendly, familiar staff and the return of programming and readily available materials. "It's so good to be here!" We couldn't agree more.
