The Pottsville Free Public Library provides unique services and resources to the local community. These include programs for youth ages one to 18 that encourage and foster literacy and STEM education; including the Library’s Girls Who Code program and Robot Orbit coding program. Last year, the Library introduced a STEM Corner for children ages 1-11. This provides various robotic, math, engineering, and other types of kits for families to borrow or use in-house. The library also collaborates with local artists to provide educational and enriching programs for children of all ages. To adjust for the pandemic, the Library also offers weekly grab and go craft and activity bags , a grab and go summer lunch program for ages one to 18, and virtual story time on our Facebook page. In-person story time was reintroduced, and I will be planning parent/ child workshops for the families who attend.
