The Children's Department is a safe, welcoming space with books and resources for children and their families, innovative programs, grab-and-go activities, and play areas that are open during library hours. Through our community partnerships, we are supporting early literacy efforts with programs and activities that promote language development and develop a lifelong love of reading. Our independent dramatic play spaces encourage creative play and vocabulary development. The open art center inspires creativity and promotes early writing skills. On any given day, you can see both children and caregivers interact with our age-appropriate play areas. Parents are coloring with their children or building with blocks. Our library is a place where families can gather for programs, read and check out books, play, find community resources, and interact with others. Our new Reading Nook offers a quiet space for relaxing and reading.
