The Family Place children's section, with early literacy toys, has completely changed the dynamic of our library. Families with young children feel very comfortable coming into our library and staying for a long time. They aren't worried about being too noisy or about disturbing others. They know that they can stop in anytime the library is open and that there is a safe and fun place for their children to play. The Parent-Child Play and Learn Workshop has been an amazing resource for our patrons. The workshop gives them an opportunity to play with their child, as well as connect with other parents with children a similar age. It also connects them with resource professionals in the community and allows them to talk with them in an informal and comfortable setting. The workshop has also helped us make community connections that have benefited other departments in the library.
