Barron F. Black Branch - Norfolk Public Library

The Barron F. Black Library serves a diverse community in a primarily blue-collar, working-class district with a large military presence. Our Family Place Library offers resources to the large number of families with young children in our service area, as well as a quiet refuge for play, learning, exploration, and fun.  Since reopening post-pandemic, the Family Place Kid Zone has been a huge factor in helping to increase our visitor numbers.  With the resumption of Family Place programming like Babygarten and KinderSTEM since December 2022, we have seen an increase in program attendance and overall patron visits each consecutive month.  Family Place helps to make Barron F. Black Library a bedrock of our community!
