Chester County Library

Over the last year with the addition of Family Place sessions and the two open play areas encouraged by Family Place training, our library has been transformed. The open play areas have children and families staying at the library for longer periods and creating friendships with other families, especially after story time sessions. Other families know the schedule for the open playroom and specifically visit the library when the "market" is open. Children who were toddlers during covid are using the library's play area to practice parallel play and older children are practicing playing together, cleaning up, and sharing toys. Caregivers have made plans to meet at the library for open play and often comment when the toys have been changed or items added. We at CCL would never go back to not having these open play areas.
