We relaunched our in-person parent-child workshops in March 2023 and they have been well received by the community. Although we can only accommodate 13-15 children/caregivers in each series, the common feedback is that the adults appreciate having a safe space to connect with other adults and children and enjoy interacting with the children in the workshop environment. We had one parent who speaks Spanish at home express gratitude that her daughter has a place to go and come back with new English words at the end of each session. Our department gained two new positions this year, which allowed us to increase our programming geared to children ages 0-5. In addition to regular storytimes, we've added several regular preschool programs that are very popular with families who have attended our workshops. We've also had families who attended workshops in spring return for winter 2024. Our challenge has been our renovation timeline. Our building is slated for a long renovation, most likely going offline later in 2024. We are considering options to expand parent child workshops to other branches in our system or temporarily moving workshops to other locations to gauge community response.
