Marian Wright Edelman Public Libary

Marlboro County Library has been a National Family Place Library since January 2019. Since becoming a Family Place Library, we have noticed an increased use of our Library's Children's area. Children beg to come to library and hate to leave. We have noticed more families playing together and children show a genuine love for tactile, imaginative, engaging play (often walking right past the children's computers). Our Family Place workshops are also catching on in our community. Most of our participants are grandparents raising grand children. We have received positive feedback from both programs.
