The Eloise May Library is located at the intersection of three cities - Denver, Centennial, and Aurora. At this library, we serve many immigrant and refugee families, some of whom have had little exposure to libraries, and some of whom are learning English. When we built a new Children's Room, we knew it needed to be a Family Place, to provide our patrons with access to community services as well as to play and learn opportunities inside the library. Families spend a lot of time congregating and relaxing in this space and as they are learning about Colorado, they are also learning about the importance of early literacy, libraries, reading, and early childhood in general. We recently updated the children's space near the Family Place area for more seating because we recognized that was impacting the longevity of time spent in the space.
