The South Garland Library is proud to be part of the Family Place Library network! We welcome families with children of all ages to our much-loved Children’s Area that is filled with play spaces and activity stations to encourage everyone to play, make new friends, and discover books together. We offer a wide range of programs for our youngest patrons and their parents and caregivers that range from energetic weekly storytimes and play sessions, a monthly art program, and special events throughout the year like indoor obstacle courses, 1-2-3 STEAM, our very popular Tiny Tot Program. To support our parents and caregivers, especially in their role as their little one’s first teacher, we have free family resources, a Parenting collection of materials, and new and improved Picture Book collection. We offer our Family Place Playtime workshop series twice a year (once in the Spring and once in the Fall) for our families with toddlers to enjoy and benefit from the expertise shared by our visiting professionals from local agencies like The Warren Center and WIC. As we continue our growth as a Family Place Library we love seeing how the library has truly become a community destination for our families to gather, play, learn, and grow together!
